Get the clothes that you like best. Don't worry about looking "cool". Just be yourself. If you wear the clothes of a clique that is not yours, then you'll be grouped into the wrong group of people. Nineth grade is good because all the other 9th graders are new and getting the hang of things. Don't worry about not being "cool", that kind of stuff doesn't matter as much in high school as it did in middle school. People begin to become their true selves in high school, and you're guaranteed to find others just like you in high school. So seriously, just be yourself. Buy what you like, not what you think you are supposed to like. I lived by that in high school, I'm 21 now and I turned out just fine.

it really depends on where you live - what you have access to - but a lot of brands you can find online... try abercrombie, american eagle, old navy, gap, hollister, limited too... even forever 21 has some great stuff this season that's more wholesome and not too trashy... try checking out cosmo girl and teen vogue for some inspiration :) i worked as a fashion designer for years and i think it's important to remember that looking cool is all about how things make you feel, if you feel good and confident other people will like you more and want to be your friend then if you're just trying too hard to convey the image you think they want you to have... just be true to who you are... good luck!

okay if you have a lot of money i sugest getting a few polos at lacoste or some expensive clothes like that then go to aberccrombie and buy some jeans or jean skirts and a few shirts halter polos and other cute things then try hollister they have really cute jean skirts also some cheaper stores are american eagle and forevr 21 and there still super cute! good luck!!

if you have money to spend go to a store like bloomingdales.....they have really cute designer clothes like juicy and hard tail. as for basics (jeans, shirts, ect.) go check out abercrombie and fitch, hollister and american eagle. they have cute clothes that might cost a munch but are worth in the long run. as for accessories go to target or claire's. they have cool necklaces, braclets and sunglasses for a good price. if you want a new purse id go for something by coach. get something plain that will go with everything. have fun!

if u want 2 save money and still buy a lot of clothes go 2 platos closet thye have all kinds of clothes thye aeropostale hollister and all that way cheaper than target but a little more expensive than walmart ull luv tht store!

umm, im guessing your pretty skinny and preppy, right?
i would def. go to hollister, their sizes are tiny and their clothes are adorable!
stay away from aeropostale, i've had the same problem with their t shirts as you said you did with the ones from penneys.
also-- wet seal!! (the BEST panties ever!! lol)

jeans.not baggy or hip huggers or "pre worn" as in holes and fading,though if they are old thats fine, just plain normal jeans. semi short-sleeved shirts, find something you like. nice sandles or regular tennis shoes. necklace.
