Im trying to convince my parents that i need a electric guitar. My birthday's coming up and ive been playing for 7 months. Im into billy talent and taking back sunday. Any suggestions to tell my parents?

To play songs like that, you need the distortion. There are certian pedals and stuff you need.
Plus, a lot the the powerchords famous to hard rock are easy to play on an elextric due to the smaller stings.
Plus, resinace isn't a problem when trying to do bar Chords

Scince you've been playing for 7 months already, I'm sure you want to step up to songs that you can't get from an acoustic (I'm assuming that's what you have if you can play but are trying to get an electric)

You could tell them that electric guitar is easier to play. Electric guitar is much more fun cause you can make it really loud and rock out but i wouldn't tell them that. but ya just tell them that it is easier to play and you can play more stuff on electric guitar and that you will have much more fun with electric guitars then with acoustic

tell them u can us headphone and them get a huge amp and dethen them lol
tell them u can pick up a guitar for about £75 or get guitar plus amp for around £100

they are better because they have more of a vibration to them, and they sound waaaaay better than acoustic, also, you can be more creative with the electric guitars...

Tell them you can use headphones with an electric guitar and they won't even hear it.
