So I guess you're type of music is the BEST right? Well, not to burst your all-high-and-mighty sense of smugness...but the definition of "music" in itself is open to a wide array of interpretations from different people. I don't like rap, but I sure as hell call it music..
As for "the inability to succeed", I don't like punks as much as the next person, but lets not lie to ourselves and say that they haven't successfully snuck up on the MTV generation that now embraces them like they once did pop-stars like Madonna.
Oh p.s. This is the 21st century, usually the word "f@g" is only uttered from the lips of ignorant people...just thought I'd let you know. ^_^

You narrow minded prick!
I'm not gonna ask you what the hell you listen to, cause truthfully, I don't give a s***. Because unlike you, I'm able to accept people who are different than me without making generalizations about them. In fact, not one of my friends has the same taste in music as I do- and while I dislike some of the music they listen to, I don't question it.
Music is a means to express yourself.
Truthfully, I don't like techno, and I hate rap, but I don't go around insulting people who listen to them. "Computer geeks"? Here you are on the internet asking a bunch of people you don't know one of the most narrow minded questions I've ever heard, and you're insulting the people that made it possible.
"Violent ex-cons who's only claim to fame is sustaining multiple gunshot wounds"? So you've heard every rap song and met every rapper? Huh... True, a lot of rap is violent and (and this is a BIG no-no in my book) degrading to women, but it's not always the case, and rap is intended as a way to express the hardships that come with a certain life- that "ex-con" lifestyle you were referring to. And I'm not saying this cause I like rap- I HATE rap with a passion in most cases.
Finally- punk rock. That's MY music. So apparently I enjoy "fags in tight jeans looking for social scapegoats to mask their inability to succeed". I don't know what "punk" you're referring to, and as a fan of the genre, I feel it my duty to inform you that in my opinion at least, modern punk is, for the most part, pure pop (and pure crap). That aside:
A) You're a homophobe, apparently.
B) And I seriously doubt they're all gay.
C) They don't ALL wear tight jeans. Another generalization. Surprise, surprise.
D) And if they do, more power to 'em. I don't have any problems with seeing a bit more.
E) THEY'RE looking for social scapegoats! That really sounds more like something YOU'D do to me.
F) So they're successful in music, yet they have an inability to succeed... hmmmm... Or if they AREN'T successful in music, yet they practice it anyway, they're doing something they care about despite a lack of success, so success isn't the most important thing.
I wanted to say, "In conclusion, go f*** yourself". But instead I think I'll give you some advice:
Stop generalizing about groups you don't even know, and if you continue to think that your way is the only right way, don't be surprised when you get your a** kicked (justly, you Fascist).
Wow... you REALLY managed to piss me off...

well my dad always tells me that you don't really listen to music if you observe and appreciate all different types of music. plus just b/c u don't find them as good music doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't. and the music u listen is probably what others would consider terrible music. and who are you to criticize musical artist. i don't remember ever seeing you bust your butt to share your music and way of life with other people. i think ignorant people like you should nit even be considered as humans but as social rejects that are miserable with life.

and exactly what do YOU consider music? Your bias and blatant ignorance was showcased by your question.
Musicians whom you consider "real" may be criminals and ex-cons too.
