Find a job that excites you. If you work at a job you dislike, you will not succeed. Find a position where you WANT to go to work every day. Success will follow. Regarding a raise, think of the unique value you add to the company. (If this is true.) Start and keep a record of all of the special things you do to add to the company's bottom line. Make certain your periodic reviews are positive plus. At the appropriate time, trot out all this info and make a convincing arguement.
