the doctor said I had a cyst that might be bursting, he gave me some Darvocets and sent me home. The Darvocets arent doing anything for the pain. I have bought some heat patchs they help a little, I am in tears. I called my Ob/Gyn doctor today she cant get me in till Monday morning at 8:30. Has anyone else had this and know ways to help it, beside all the drugs? All the women in my family have a hard time getting preg and have troubles with female things, I am 24 should I discuss that with my doctor and see if there are test she can do. It would break my heart if I couldnt have children.

I did make the appointment to go Monday morning. The reason is she is going out of town, if I am not better I can go the doctor on call. Also, I am not sure the ER doctor knows what he is talking about, he didnt do an ultrasound, and he didnt even do a pelvic exam. All he did was press and cause more pain. I told them I could be Preg and they said the test was neg, they did a urine test.

as far as the pain, try ibuprofen 3 times a day 800mg each time. this will help reduce the swelling. you can also take the darvoct without worrying about interaction. if heat works, keep using it. in the meantime, if the pain is bad enough, you could try going to an insta care or ER and see if theres anything they can do for you more quickly than your OB/GYN can.

i also have cysts on my ovaries, but none that have been about to burst. theyre painful but doesnt sound like mine are anywhere near as painful as yours. i hope you can find a way to fix the pain soon!

Well, the ovaric cyst has nothing to do with infertility, so don't worry, it doesn't mean you will not be able to have kids, however you can only know after trying to have them.

If the Darvocet is not working, try taking Ibuprofen which is an antiinflamatory (Darvocet is not). I would suggest to take a high dose first, like 600-800 mg first and then keep on taking 400 mg every 8 hours for many days. You may want to use Prilosec OTC with it to avoid gastritis and heartburn, 1 tablet a day (or even 1 tablet twice daily). If it's your ovary bleeding (which every woman has EVERYTIME she ovulates...) it should last 3-4 days probably. If it lasts longer, then it's probably something else, but I guess they did an ultrasound in the ER to rule out other causes, right?

I had a cyst burst in me too. I was actually given birth control to help ease my body back into the correct hormone level, what happened was that the birth control I was taking before was making my uteris more like a pregnant environment instead of less like one. Or at least thats how my ob/gyn explained it to me. The medicine he gave me didn't help for pain either, I found it eased the pain to wear draw string cotton pants and to sit slouched with my legs slightly spread. I even took off work.

He then told me and my husband that after I was done taking a month of this other kind of birth control that we could start trying to have a baby. Its been almost a year and it is hard and we just got pregnant. I have since switched ob/gyns and my new dr. is great. She said that I had such a hard time getting pregnant because of my bad reaction to the birth control in the first place, not because of the cyst. So I wish you all the best of luck, and yes, children are possible, I've been where you are and i'm only 22. Good Luck and God Bless.

I would go to the doctor on call. This seems like a genuine emergency (hello?! Why didn't the ER doc do an ultrasound or pelvic exam??!)....actually, I would find myself a new ob/gyn STAT!

I'm sorry I can't quite help more, but definitely go see another doctor pronto.

Don't worry, but go see your doctor asap. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR OB WON'T SEE YOU UNTIL MONDAY! CREEPS! Get another OB, then! That ticks me off!!!

Call your dr. If you're sexually active, it could be a tubal preg. If you're not, it could just be that ovulation is hurting. Or it may in fact be a cyst. Either way, call your doc now and make an appointment. Get a referral to another OB.

Good luck sister!

Lets do this simple steps
a) First with one finger push deep in your belly, where the pain is located, this will be uncomfortable and maybe it will elict some pain, now take it out in one move....
When you took out the finger it hurt more than when you had it pushing in your belly? if the answer is yes, you have an accute abdomen and this needs surgery right now
b) Do not take any pain killers, if you take them they will obscure your doctors diagnosis
c) What size the cyst was? it is important because you may have some torsion of the ovary, and this situation is urgent?

I had the same pain a few weeks ago and went to the er they told me it was just my endometriosis it could be because you are ovulating or you could be pregnant but ya they told me it was because of my endometriosis and i take vicoprofen 200/7 and that is the only thing that helps me but it will probably cause you to be drowsy!Good Luck and God Bless

Are you sure it is not a kidney stone? Is there blood in your urine? Have you had an MRI?

I would suggest you get to the ER of a TEACHING HOSPITAL as soon as you can. It seems to me that you are not in very good hands right now.

All the best, and if you can, please leave me a message when you are feeling better.

That is all you can do but if the pain worsens do not hesitate to go back to the er.
