horomones cause hair to darken as well.

children lack large amounts of Estrogen and Testosterone.

pregnant women especially, often have radical darkening of hair in a very short time.

By the time a child approaches puberty, nutrition and horomonal changes take over changing many things, including hair color

It does deppend on age but really because of nutrition. Remember that hair is almost like a record of all the thing you eat. so is you consider what you eat right now and what you ate as a child, you would notice some diffrences. Now, there some cases when it happends all around, but because these people have some nutrition problems, you can see a lot of that on very rural places in latin america.
In some cases it does deppend on your shampoo, the water you shower with o in pool may also have large concentrations of Cl. so there are many external causes that can lead to collor change besides nutrition.

Hair darkens as a person gets older. When I was really little (like 5) my hair was so light it was almost clear. Now I'm 19 and it's a kind of deep gold color. My dad says his hair was the same as mine when he was yonger but now his is just plain brown.
