Dont let her have any privileges...no snacks, no tv etc until she can behave. If she continues to be a problem, ask the parents what you should do.

The best thing you can do is ...turn the other cheek( to a small extent) when she pulls a sour face laugh and tell her she looks like the cookie monster pull a funny face yourself maybe give her a growl and a tickle ...tell her u are the cookie monster and are going to eat her and chase her around the room...laughing of course...when she throws a trantrum just watch then after awhile ask her if she is finished and would like to help you draw or something creative ...the best way to deal with these kids is to ignore and distract ,treat them with love ,kindness and plenty of fun...alot of the time they act up because they are bored or just looking for attention... this works for kids between 3 and 6 ...it will take time for her to learn to be nice but if it continues i would be talking to the parents about it and if that fails ask for permission to punish her ...such as time out ... her age converted into minutes spent on a chair ..take away favourite toy .. no tv , if all fails look for another child to sit for

Sadly, She probably needs more attention. She is bored and needs to be mentally stimulated. Maybe you can teach her something new, ex. painting, sewing, arts and crafts. Anything to keep her busy, and keep praising her for the good things she does, even when she forgets to give you an attitude and back talk. It takes time to gain children's trust, but you could turn out to be the one that inspired her in the future. Good Luck and keep the patience!

Tell her that if she doesn't behave you will tell you-know-who, about you-know-what. If she asked what your talking about, tell her that she knows EXACTLY what you're talking about. Then, the little girl (using her imagination) imagines probably the worst, or remembers the time she's done something wrong, and never got caught, and she's your to command, whenever, whatever. A little black mailing doesn't hurt anyone once in a while! Plus it works 75% of the time. (I think)

Did you just start babysitting her?
Just make sure she is safe....and watch her from the corner of your eyes...give her choices...Let her come to you begging for attention....don't try so hard. Have you told her parents about this, yet?

you can either threaten that you'll call her parents and tell them,
if she doesnt understand, then try to find out what she likes,
i would usually let them watch TV. it works wonders.
if that doesnt work, play a fun game with her.
not all kids..most kids dont like to be read to.
so, tv, or fun games.
board games are good too.

most kids dont like being around people
if they sense that the people dont like them

you can either take away everything she likes, beat her ***, lock her in a closet, tell her parents what she does, get a hidden camera and show the tape to her parents, or all of the above
