Any sign can be with any other sign! It all depends on your whole chart, based on your DATE, PLACE, EXACT TIME of birth, not just your Sun signs.
Your whole chart then is then compared to the other person's whole chart using a technique called Synastry.
The aspects between each other's planets and points must be looked at and interpreted. The planets in each others houses must be looked at and interpreted, both ways. Affinities must be looked for. It's not simple to a layperson, but it is to people who are educated in Astrology terminology.
Sun sign horoscopes are absolutely inaccurate to determine compatibility between two people.

Leo + Pisces
Fire + Water = Steam
Pisces aspires to selflessness, whereas you seem to be strongly preoccupied with the idea of exuding personality and developing an ego for both social and material gain. Both of you will find it hard reconciling these two very distinctly different perspectives on life and what you both believe to be the true meaning of a love relationship. In a sense you may both be right, but seeing each other’s point of view will, at times, not be easy for you.
Leo can warm and ground the heavenly bent Pisces mind, whereas Pisces will take great pleasure in giving Leo a leg-up to see what Cloud 9 is really like. Since there is certainly some inspiration that can be shared between you both, this is not a relationship that should be dismissed immediately. You will find yourself stimulating Pisces to work and achieve something worthwhile in the concrete world, whilst you too will see that what they offer reveals some not-so-obvious resources that could be valuable in your search for professional success. Emotional and sexual energies between the two of you are quite unusual and don’t necessarily work that easily.
There may be some exceptions, and if you choose a Pisces born between 11 and 20 March who has a strong Scorpio flavour, there may be a little more fire than you’d ordinarily expect to find in the Pisces temperament. Those born between 1 and 10 March reveal a slightly more sensitive and responsive side to their personality. The difficult Pisces individual for you is born between 20 and 28/29 February.

They can be, yes. The Leo is probably going to be the most outgoing and powerful one in the relationship. The Pisces will tend to be more internal, emotional and self-involved. If the guy is a Leo, he may be a bit much for a quiet Pisces personality. If the guy is a Pisces, he will probably really enjoy a girl who will talk him into lots of social circles and fun.
Of course, there are exceptions in Astrology, because the other planets, and the Rising Signs can make a difference, too. Not all people are typical of their Sun Signs.

Romantic Compatibility
Provided by Astrology.com
Pisces & Leo
When Leo and Pisces join together in a love match, each partner enjoys the new perspective the other brings to life in general. Leo is a strong and assertive Sign, being free to do what they want and taking command of their surroundings. Pisces is quieter and more reserved and introspective. In many ways the two are polar opposites, yet both are dreamers at heart. When they care for one another, they each fill the other's voids and have a caring, mutually beneficial relationship.
Leo is a natural leader and in a relationship with Pisces often becomes the guardian of their weaker partner. Pisces, in turn, gives Leo the audience they need for their ambitions and social performances. Pisces is a Sign that, like Water, fills whatever container it is poured into. Pisces tends to give themselves over to their love match; a kind heart allows The Fish to know Leo in a way that many other Signs don't. Leo's straight forwardness coupled with that doesn't pass into conceit -- the way Leo alone might act -- and isn't overly shy, like Pisces alone may be.
Leo is ruled by The Sun and Pisces is ruled by the Planet Jupiter. Pisces is also ruled by Neptune. The Sun gives out light, life and a focus on the Self to the Leo-Pisces relationship. Neptune is about big pictures, ideas and illusions; but it's also involved with disillusion and fantasy. Leo can help Pisces turn fantasies into realities. Neptune works through Pisces by softening Leo's sometimes self-centered and abrupt actions, channeling their energy into a more creative and fruitful outlet.
Leo is a Fire Sign and Pisces is a Water Sign. These two can be very happy and progressive if they recognize the other's needs, using introspection and creative ambition to tend to matters of the heart. Pisces can help Leo learn to be humble and to think of the needs of others, while Leo teaches Pisces to go out into the world and begin to loosen up a bit. But Pisces can be too emotional, too much Water dampening Leo's enthusiasm. Conversely, too much Fire can boil the Water and leave Pisces emotionally burned. Leo and Pisces must establish effective communication in order to ensure their balance is maintained.
Leo is a Fixed Sign and Pisces is a Mutable Sign. Pisces doesn't serve well as the boss. They get their greatest satisfaction from bettering the universe, starting with their partner. Leo, on the other hand, comes up with ideas in the first place and suggests little changes to be made here and there in the relationship.
What's the best aspect of the Leo-Pisces relationship? It's their receptiveness to one another's teachings. Pisces shows Leo how to be sensitive and care, and Leo teaches Pisces to make their dreams happen rather than sitting on them. Their ability provide what the other needs makes theirs a truly mutual relationship.

Not as a rule. But you have to understand that you have more than your sun sign and all of this comes into play when you are looking for compatibility. If you are a Pisces you want to look for another water sign like Cancer or Scorpio. A Leo is a fire sign and they can make you boil. :) In a good way or a bad way. Pick up a copy of Linda Goodman's sun signs. Great book for a quick reference.
Best of luck

Hi! Just thought I would let you know that I am a Leo and my husband is a Pisces, and we've been married for 9 yrs and it's been trying at times, but relationship isn't?? But, we are still so very much in love!! I looked on the computer Sun night and typed in Horoscopes in the search line and it brought up a lot of different sights, and I clicked on different ones and found one where you can type in 2 different signs and it will tell you if you're compatible or not! It was pretty cool!
There's one that I found that you can find out your Chinese zodiac and it gives you a lot of info on that too!
Check it out, it's cool!
Good Luck and have fun!!

A major difference between you is that Pisces lacks Leo's natural egocentricity, personal pride and ambition, and the need to feel important and special. Pisces will not compete with Leo and is perfectly comfortable not being the one in the limelight. In fact, Pisces has a passive streak and tends to recede into the background, avoiding intensely competitive situations where decisiveness and aggressiveness are required. Personal recognition is not that important to Pisces. Leo, on the other hand, loves to be noticed and appreciated, to be the centre of attention, and tends to have an inflated sense of self-importance.
Pisces is gentle, receptive, compassionate, and very sensitive to the emotional tone in any relationship. Pisces is attuned to the subtle signals, unspoken feelings and needs of a partner, while Leo is a big vague when it comes to such things. If you want or need something from Leo, you must clearly say so.
Pisces's changeability, fluidity, elusiveness, sensitivity and awareness of subtlety fascinates or frustrates Leo, who is a much more straightforward, uncomplicated creature.
Also, Leo can easily dominate or trample over Pisces's feelings, and this can be the source of considerable unhappiness.
Leo's basic emotional tone is vibrant, sunny and warm, while Pisces's is dreamy and moody. Leo has an underlying narcissistic streak and cannot bear to be ignored, unappreciated, or considered mediocre. Often Leo will exaggerate feelings, becoming loud, boisterous, and melodramatic in order to get attention. There is a strong domineering or controlling aspect to Leo's character as well, which makes Leo something of a household tyrant at times. Pisces, on the other hand, is very receptive and gentle, not aggressive, not a fighter. Because Pisces is also sympathetic and so readily identifies with other people's feelings, Pisces is inclined to give up personal desires and rights in order to make the other person happy. Thus a pattern may develop between you where Leo is running the show and Pisces constantly obliges or acquiesces to Leo's wishes. Compared to Leo, Pisces may be something of a door mat (especially if other astrological factors do not indicate a strong will or strong sense of self).
Also, Pisces is rather chameleon-like, emotionally speaking, and is strongly influenced by the emotional atmosphere and inner feelings of others in the environment, so when Leo is up, the warmth and optimism raises Pisces's mood considerably. But if Leo is feeling negative, this is very debilitating to Pisces.
There is an obsessive quality to the desire you feel for one another and the emotional intensity of this relationship may be more than either of you wants to handle. You are deeply attracted to each other, drawn to each other like magnets, and you "get under each other's skin". You find yourselves pouring out your deepest feelings to each other. Or you may struggle to hide your true feelings from each other, and consequently become enmeshed in a very complex emotional tangle. You may feel simultaneously intensely attracted and repulsed by each other. Bonding is intense, though, and you may evoke feelings of jealousy and possessiveness in each other as well. If either of you is unwilling to have your deepest feelings exposed and your ingrained habits challenged, you will find this relationship too stressful.
This relationship will always have a highly unstable, unpredictable tone, an electric quality that is exciting but not especially soothing or peaceful.
You may see one another on an irregular basis, or have numerous separations and reunions, or for some other reason be unable to establish a steady rhythm and togetherness.
Freedom, openness, and a spirit of adventure (particularly regarding sexuality and intimate relationships) will be a must in this relationship.
There is a magnetic, rather intense attraction between you, and it is very likely that you will go through many intense challenges and emotionally powerful experiences together.
Pisces expects love and devotion. Sex in itself is not important to Pisces, providing the spiritual bond is there. Leo can find Pisces the ultimate "wet blanket" at times. Physical expression is important to Leo and Pisces in most cases, won't be turned on by Leo's gusty approach towards sex.
The two of you are likely to collaborate on community affairs, political activities, or intellectual endeavours. Pisces encourages Leo to participate in social groups and contribute to society in greater measure. It is likely that the two of you will collaborate on committees or in some kind of business. Whether your endeavours are successful depends largely on whether you can work together harmoniously; if you arouse anger in each other, you will end up being adversaries or competitors instead of partners in a team.
