That is where damn near everyone starts.
Really, it depends on natural talent. I picked it up, somethign clicked, I learned quickly. But I've also had freind who played for 6 month, and CAN play, just not well.
But really, everyone I have talked to more or less agrees that is is fairly basic.
If you have a teacher, it's EXTREAMLY helpful. They can guide on what your doing right and wrong.
But, if your going to buy a guitar and learn off of a thing you foudn online, if could be VERY hard. You don't know what fingers to use.
Basically: if you try hard, have natural talent, and have good teahing; very easy.
But if you slack off, suck, and are guessing on what your doing; hard.

To learn any type of instrument is fairly hard obviously depends on to what sort standard you want to play too I think there are thousands of guitars in cupboards and spare rooms that are gathering dust having been used for maybe 1 or 2 lessons then put into storage to be learnt at a later date its a strange thing but I lived in Russia for a few years and could not believe how many people played guitar and knew loads of old folk songs at the end of every party someone pulled out a guitar and started singing some old Russian folk song and they were all self taught !

depends. If you already know the basics of music (i.e. rhythm, notes, tempo) Then you are really advanced as a beginner. As far as the guitar goes you are going to have to build callouses and that means practice. Get a book or a teacher, or both to learn. Also you should get a transcription book for music you like, or look at tabs on the Internet, either you'll have something fun to play.
Hope this helps

Well, not that hard really.
Like everything, it depends on your level of commitment, motivation and most of all your determination.
GOOD LUCK
P.S It is frustrating at the start, but after the first two to three months, it sure is rewarding!

everyone learns with no experience. as long as your finger dexterity is ok, and you have the feel, not hard in the beginning.

Just learn chord by chord, song by song. Here are a bunch of guitar sites. But they are overwhelming. Check out and exhaust one site at a time.
