If you like the person then go with them. I can't believe that people still hold prejudices these days. It's not what is on the outside that matters. It is what is on the inside.

Unfortunately being a racists is something that is so hard to change. These are ideas that have been ingrained in some peoples minds from childhood. I am afraid that as long as you are living in your parent's home you are going to have to either abide by their wishes or endure the consequences. I hope you don't do something out of spite just to get back at your parents. I was raised in a home much like your own and didn't have friends of other races until I grew up and moved out. Good for you that you don't have the same views on race that your parents. Good Luck

Sorry to have to tell you but your parents are racist. I hope you don't buy into all that crap, which it sounds like you do. If you are living in your parents house I guess you have to follow their rules, but when you grow up and get out of their house please go out with whoever you want and don't ever think it's wrong unless they don't treat you right. I dont' think your dad was justified in hitting you for that, and frankly I would have had his *** put in jail. There's nothing wrong with what you were doing. No one is better than anyone else, period. We are all human beings. Good luck I'll pray for your dad so he won't be so closed minded.

Ok you need to talk to your parents about it, because if you fall in love with a guy from another race, and your parents have a problem with it, then it's just going to bring complications between you and them.

You might as well go get the black boy, you're already talking like one, at least an uneducated one, I cant imagine you will ever be much of a catch for a decent white guy, so good riddance I say.

parents are like that. im asian so my parents want me to date only asian guys. it bothers me so much. i dont think its wrong to associate with people outside your race. love, like and friendship come in different shapes, colors, and races. your dad had no right to flip out cause you were talking to a black guy. you should tell him how you felt. good luck and remember: friendship is blind. it cant discriminate. and no one else should either.
