I have been having a greater amount of problems with my sinuses. I am unable to find allergy symptoms that match what I am experiencing.
My eyes get very dry and itchy. My sinuses dry out and become very thick. Not much sneezing. My eyes also becomed very sensitive to light when my sinuses are swollen. Postnasal drip. Even though the symptoms don't quite match could this be allergies. I have had this problem for many years.
I just went to my doctor and she is treating me for allergies initially but the info I get online doesn't jive.

It does sound like allergies,it's been a hard season for many people with the sudden changes in the weather, you may find that your doctor will try several meds to adjust your allergies,

sounds like either a chronic sinus infection or allergies. itchy eyes, dry sinuses, postnasal drip...these are all allergy symptoms. trust me - i have all of the same symptoms (chronic post nasal drip, dry cough, dry eyes...) and i have been diagnosed with allergies by 2 allergists (allergy specialists). you can either go visit an ENT (ear nose throat) doctor OR you can go to an allergist, who specializes in allergy treatment. he or she can tell you for sure if you have allergies and can run a series of tests to determine what you may be allergic to. the tests cost a bit of money but are covered by most insurance if it is deemed necessary for you. good luck!

as long as you do not have any underlying heart conditions (ie high blood pressure) try otc decongestant like sudifed or advil cold/sinus. warm salt gargels, warm compressed to the face or letting warm water run over your face (like in the shower) or saline nasel flushes ( try otc "ocean spray" )that should help with some of the symtoms. If you are experiencing alot of congestion I would try to avoid plain antihystamines like benadryl, try getting one with a decongestant (again no heart problams) like clariten d or alavert d. you may also request a rx rrom your md. You may even ask for a nasal spray. Either way check with you pharmasist for suggestions and possible medicine reactions- thats what they are there for.. there usually the best source of info!!
