To be honest, I just don't like Republicans. Sorry, the truth of the matter is I avoid them like the plague. I have my reasons based on my experience with them. No disrespect intended but I have an extra office to rent but I can't stomach sharing space with a Republican. Any problems with discrimination laws, newspaper or professional journal editorial policies?

You see, the very first answer proves my point. That is one of the many reasons that I can't stand them!

If it's truly your own office space then yes you should have a right to rent to whomever you wish. I also don't like Republicans. I relegate them to a status somewheres just below excrement; that being crap has a purpose and Republicans don't. The unfortunate thing is, though, I have no idea how this will legally affect you. I do agree with why make your own life miserable while renting to someone you can't stand. Good luck, Dearheart.

Yeah, i imagine it truly is discriminatory, yet you human beings do not try this, do you? Discrimination is poor, until eventually you want to do it then, by some ability, you're excuses are ok. i have had problems with Blacks so it might want to experience good about you and the ACLU if I positioned that interior the paper? No, of route no longer and admittedly in spite of ways many issues i have had with Blacks i comprehend all of them are not a similar. i wager you aren't from now on that open. i'd like to pass in there and employ that area and then assist you to discover out i'm a conservative Republican. I assure you'd be bowled over and also you would under no circumstances comprehend it until eventually I advised you. i ask your self if the ACLU might want to handle this example?

Yes it would be against any discrimination laws in most states. However unless you are a Realtor you probably couldn't be sued for it (unless you had more than 3 units for rent). BTW if you don't want to associate with Republicans then you probably need to leave the internet because there are quite a few of them on here.

Like one of the previous posters, you can exclude Republicans (like myself) from working with you, however, you cannot make that public in your ad because you CAN be sued for discrimination.
I would really like to know why Republicans turn you off. Not all of them are bad apples, you know. Likewise, how would you feel if someone put up an ad saying "Office space available but no Democrats allowed?" Politics shouldn't interfere with having a professional, working relationship. Just don't ask them about their beliefs.

Probably...you're excluding a group of people based upon their beliefs. It is okay not to want to rent to "Republicans" or anyone else you don't want too, but you can't say so in your ad...discrimination. You leave yourself open for a lawsuit. Some enterprising litigious "Republican" will eat that one up and you too.

Talk politics during the meet-n-greet. Folks who wholeheartedly disagree with you probably won't want to share a space with you either.

Looks to me like you would want to class up the joint. The only way to do that is to rent to Republicans. And I'm not sorry.
