Women are definately changing. But whether it is a good thing or not depends on how you look at it.

As a woman, I am in two minds - purely because it has upset the balance of how relationships these days work. Now more kids than ever are in single parent families or step parent families (in the UK, there are more families living in this way than there are in the 'traditional' family unit).

Women are taught in schools that they can have (and get) as much as a man can get, they are taught that they dont have to 'bag' themselves the 'lucky prize' of a man to give them what they want, because they can do it on there own. This in return leaves a woman with the ability to say ' we dont have to take this bollox' and frequently they no longer do. If a guy dishes out crap, its not tolerated anymore.

And that is the way it should be. Women deserve respect as a person, in the same way that men do.

As for men having babies (haha!! That made me laugh!) - i do hold the traditional view there - as in, if it ever happened, then the human race will die out rapidly! If the nuclear bomb doesnt take us all first!

PS - In the UK we had Maggie Thatcher! She was wicked. A totally inspiring female in getting something that no woman had before. An amazing chick - maybe you will get it in the USA some day!!

I think men and women are changing at the same pace-whether its there appearance, the way they act, what is considered to be acceptable to do by both men and women in society-and especialley the jobs in which they can undertake.

At the end of the day its down to equal rights and other factors which influence the change in todays society-such as fashion, laws etc etc!

I think that women should be able to do all of the jobs and sports than men in the past were mainly dominating (for example it was usual for just men to play football, or women to be "in the kitchen" etc!!)

After all why shouldnt men cook....? or women play football? although yeh, sometimes the whole equal rights act can be takeb too far! I guess you have to take things with a pince of salt and know when to stop :) for example, some things women are best at, and others men are...i think people should just try to accept this, rather than arguing with it!

I drive a truck but that doesnt mean im not a lady.

Yes women are changing, they HAVE been for over 30
years now, where have YOU been?
And unfortunately it is NOT for the better.
See my question and answers, you will see what i mean.

Why do you think we have increased rape, Stalking , and
sexual harassment? Women have completely put away
their modesty. Every one ***s before their married, women
dress like *****s, women behave like the crudest of the male
race, and men are no longer chivalrous-why?

Because women have the power to civilize society. When
women give up their sexual modesty, manners, and respect
and honor for men the civilization crumbles and crime,STDS, and
violence always follow. I want you to read this book ok? Even
if you HATE to read. it is awesome. It is called " A Return to Modesty" by Wendy Shalit. It describes why courting and chivalry USED to be the norm but is no where in sight now, it describes
the damage of the femnist movement and the reasons why
modesty is so important.

And you know what? Us Ladies ARE out there, but we are
social outcasts from other women, because we are seen as
"weak' and "oppressed" for acting submissive and ladylike.
I belong to two groups one is called "Fascinating Ladies" and
"Feminine Ladies" they are both support groups for women
who like old fashioned romance and courting, and behaving
like a modest feminine lady. I am 24 so it is hard to find
women my age who think like me. Again see my Questions
and Answers i have many Comments on this particular subject.

We are out there but few and far between. However
it is becomming popular again so lets cross our fingers.
If anything, just feel sorry that they have to act this way
to feel like thier worth anything. It is really sad that
being a woman is considered to be like a "disease" that
you must "cure"

women started changing a long time ago, during the war they had to take on more male oriented jobs and many women worked for the first time because the men were at war. since then they have worked towards total equality. and why not if a man can do it then so can a woman. there are not may things a man can do that women can't. and before anyone starts thinking it..........you can now produce sperm in a test tube so you don't need a man for that!!!!

Hey Mellissa, C'mon now lets not sound like a bra burner. Women want all the benefits of equality only when it is beneficial to them. There is no sort of equality when it comes to Dating. Women TYPICALLY sit passively letting the guys do all the work. Where is the EQUALITY THERE? Also when it comes to Child customer after divorce. Men are typically the ones who get short changed. I am all for equality, as LONG as it is divided equally. By the way, regardless of what you may "feel", we all have a pre-programmed set of gender roles that have been going on for CENTURIES. A couple decades of women's liberation isn't going to change evolution. ~Sue

I don't know what that's all about. I've always been one to enjoy being lady like. I love dressing up, looking like a lady, as well as loving the whole house wife life. I think women are stuck on trying to prove to men that we don't have to be the lady of the house. That we are capable of all the things you are. I don't get it though. Cause you don't see men trying to do girly things. Like, " I can get my nails done to hun." Or whatever. Enjoy being a women. That's how I see it.

I drive a van, watch kiddie sports, drink guys under the table, and work at an auto shop. Yeah, I'd say times are changing, but not us girls. We've always wanted to be where we are, and now we have a better chance. Some people may not like it, but who cares, right?
