I think that the biggest lesson learned was that a country could not impose war debts on a country with a thoroughly destroyed infrastructure and expect them to pay it all back. Germany was hit with a lot of money to "pay" for their actions during WWI, and there was no way for them to realistically get that money to pay it back. There was rampant unemployment after the war. So along comes this crazy Austrian art flunkie who says screw this stuff that we are told we have to do. I'll get you all jobs, Germany will rise again to become a super power we once were. I'll get the territories that were unjustly taken from us (Danzig in nowaday Poland). Also, they were demilitarized, and military strength has always been something they were proud of. He said nuts to that, we'll arm ourselves again! So basically, what we learned is that we shouldn't demand payments from a country who can't make them and someone should be there to help rebuild the country and set them back to where they were, hopefully with a better ruling system.

Obviously, nothing. We allowed them to steam across Europe during the 1930's in the name of appeasement, only to start another world war. Just like we're allowing islamic fascist do now.

that we are suppose to learn that Germany with excessive power is not safe, but their punishment was pretty harsh so the other countries were a lil too nice to them and they got power again and then we have WW2

Nothing. We let Hitler's regime do all sorts of nasty things before we got involved with the next war...because Japan bombed us.

The weapons sucked, so we invented WWII to try better weapons (i.e. the atom bomb). Now, we're getting bored of that "so yesterday" form of weaponry.
WWIII anyone?
