Recently experiencing computer problems which I thought i could fix by running virus scan while in safe mode. Computer wouldn't allow me to access safe mode using F8 so I manually went to safe mode using msconfig and boot tab, however when couputer rebooted my screen was blank and the on/off button was yellow. It says to press any key or mouse however nothing happens. Any suggestions???

it will allow you to enter the selection screen to pick safe mode, you just need to keep hitting the F8 key repetedly as soon as you hit the power button to turn the pc on.

monitors are very tricky
the only way to sort it out will be to try out different options
and eliminate them as you proceed.
you can try to replace the display card
you can try and test with a different monitor
you can try to get into safe mode and do some changes display
you can also try to remove the display card and insert it in another pci slot
you can try to change the jumper switches
your can try to start the computer with a bootable cd and run setup
etc...
the options are limitless, but one of them should work

Try using another video card. If it works, the problem is your video card.
