Because humans are very very lonely. Much more lonely than they would like to admit. And on another note, the internet can be used as a great research tool. A good educational tool.

technically, you can't play "the internet" but you surf the net, and play games ON the net.
But, I just go on it as something to do, something to use as a tool, possibly to download stuff, search stuff, and all that kinda stuff!
