Stupid trade. Dessens is an adequate reliever. Perez has been a good starter in the past although he hasn't been this season. Teams shouldn't trade players at their lowest value, which is what the Dodgers did.

Who were the minor leaguers? If they were any good, the Dodgers may have given up an awful lot to get a at best fair pitcher in Dessens.

Odalis Perez had to be traded and Elmer Dessens is a nice pickup, but they still need to do more

The Blue Jays did the same thing a couple of years ago when they sent Jose Lopez to Cincinnati for Elmer. Why GM's fall in love with a soft throwing mediocre pitcher is beyond me. It'd be different if he threw in the high 90s, at least they could claim it was on potential.
Awful trade. Dodgers should have asked for a reach around.

Are you serious, I hadn't heard about this yet! Well, Dessens is ok and Perez was really losing it. I don't know about the 2 minor leaguers and cash though. Is he really worth all that?

It was toxic waste removal for the Dodgers. Odalis was publicly whining about his mistreatment despite his continuing poor performances.

I don't think this trade will be enough. The Dodgers still need a strong starter and a power hitter.
