people some do it because some one dies, someone abuses them (physically mentally or emotionally) and makes them feel like they are just a burden to society, someone around them does it and they think that if that person couldn't take the pressure how could they, or they think that they aren't worth anything and that no one loves them, could ever love them, or will love them. and please if you know someone who is having thoughts don't try to fix it yourself get help from an adult you cant handle it no matter haw strong you think you are. Plus your fried might hurt you and throw you into the same depressive cycle and trust me you don't want to go there. You suffer more because you think it your fault your fried ended up like he/she did.

Why? The person feels that everyone and everything is against them, nobody would care if they were gone, they can't do anything right anyway, they can't take any more teasing/taunting/financial burdens or devastation.

Why not? The only person who benefits (if it can be called that) from suicide is the person who committed it. Family, friends, co-workers, aquaintances are all affected by the untimely death. Pain is the only thing that comes from suicide. The person committing has not solved their problem, they've simply moved it onto someone elses shoulders, except it is spread around and each person left behind shares in the pain burden. Hurting those left behind and leaving heart break and loss behind is the main reason to not do it.

Lots of things lead people to contemplate suicide, but a moment of desperation is what causes them to actually act upon it.

Why do it? There is no rational reason to do it.
Why not do it? Because you owe it to yourself to hang on, because nothing has to stay the same. It was Ghandi who said, "be the change that you seek." If that is impossible, because you feel so overwhelmed by life circumstance, then make a final effort to reach out to someone who can help you. They cannot "fix" things for you, but they can help you gain the tools that help you make your life more satisfying, manageable, easier to deal with. When you choose to die, you are giving up on your dreams, your family's hopes & dreams to share a lifetime with you; you never know what lies around the corner, and you are worth the effort. If you can't take in the big picture, concentrate on getting through an hour at a time. Find things that get you in touch with your better self. Do something creative, artwork, write. Perhaps your struggles now, will inspire someone else later. If you kill yourself, you are not guaranteed that the afterlife will provide relief....for all you know, this life is hell, and getting thru it will take you to a better place. we just don't know. so hang in there. reach out, and take care.

Why do it? Because they feel that no one cares about them they are lost in the world and think everyone hates them. They think that there life will never get better. The reason is kinda undiscribable. I have almost commited suicide 3 times when i was 12 and 13 now i am 15 and would never do it because i know people care about me. That i am loved etc.

Suicide is a common theme because of the visibility of mental illness.

Suicide does seem like an ideal solution, but it's really not a matter of trading something in. Thanatology -- the study of death -- is really invalid at the moment because we have such limited data about the concept of death.

Suicide is a personal decision, but anyone considering it should be strongly advised against it.

Suicide can be caused by stress consuming a person's life. Do it if you are a wimp and can't handle things. Don't do if you can stand up and handle your problems.

God forbid I ever get some debilitating painful disease but if I did and there was no hope and I was doomed anyway, why stick around just getting worse and worse, with intolerable pain? I would hope I'd have the ballz to just end it.

Why do it? Because you're so weak you can't deal with the problems in your life.

Why not do it? Because no obstacle is so big that you can't get through it and salvage a good, happy life.

Severe depression usually comes from hormonal imbalances. Very strong stuff, and difficult to fight.
