It was probably an ovulation cycle before your period. I have an irregular period, too. Try having sex for a few days before you expect your period, also, as well as when you first start bleeding, because sometimes bleeding happens during ovulation, and with irregular periods, you can ovulate for a few days and then get your period immediately afterwards.

Best thing to do is to have sex every other day, without fail, and youre likely to get pregnant that way. You ovulate for 3 days.

First of all, unless you're married, in a committed relationship or in a stable financial state (meaning you can afford to actually have and properly care for a child) you should be taking precautions. Not only because of the pregnancy risk, but for your health.

Secondly, pregnancy occurs only after you have ovulated, the egg has been fertilized and has attached to your uterine lining. So depending on when you actually had sex in relation to your date of ovulation, your chances of getting pregnant aren't something that you can calculate.
