my resume has dental assistant 2005-2006, dental assistant 2001-2005, Flight attendant 2001 (sept 11 put us out of business) and medical assistant 1999-2001------ If i list them all ill be getting into two pages, should i remove the flight attendant job since i only did it for a very short period of time (like 4 mos) and has really nothing to do with the medical field? or should i keep it and go into two pages?

It really doen'st have to do with what you are applying for, but it really looks good so they can see what other feilds you have worked with. Great occupation by the way.

Yes, you should include it.

I don't understand why four jobs would be two pages.....do you have a lot of detail on each?

I look at a lot of resumes and have hired lots of people. Trust me, leave the flight attendant experience in.

Relevant to a dental job or not, it's perceived as a "selective" position ...that is, the airlines typically go through a lot of screening of applicants before hiring someone.... and you passed. They also have good training programs, making you more valuable as a worker that deals with people.

The job interview is never about your dental experience or any other job experience. It's to get an idea of who you really are. Having something interesting like FA experience is a talking point that many interviewers will jump on....and you should take full advantage. It differentiates you from the crowd, and that's good.

Personaly i would leave only the jobs that have any relevance to the job you are applying for on your resume but also make sure you list any achievements and promotions things like that .I have worked in many fields and now work in medical to ...i think it would be pointless to list all my other jobs ....every job that i have reached interview stage for i have been offered the position ...so my resume must be fine without all the extra employment details ..plus i think if you list to many jobs it makes you look unstable and unreliable people dont want to employ you if you have a history of staying in a position for a few months then leaving

If you include it, you need to explain how the skills you developed as a flight attendant will transfer to your new career. I also suggest adding months, so your employment history is a more accurate timeline. Remember that 1999-2000 could be December 1999 to January 2000!

it depends on the job you are applying for. If you don't think it will help you get the job then leave it off but having a two page resume isn't really a bad thing as long as you keep it clear and easy to read. Good luck

To whom are u going to send your resume?

If you are going to apply to a medical job then just list in your resume your experience in that field.

And for example you can write a brief descriptions of your activities in your previous job like what did you do as a dental assistance, etc.

I would remove anything that doesn't show experience for what you are applying for.

Employers really only want a cover page and a one page resume (job experience).

Keep it in. If You're going for a medical job, they'll basically be looking at that stuff. They kind of like to know what You do with Your time off from other jobs, I think.

I would eliminate it and keep the resume to one page. Here's some additional information that might be of help to you.

Yeach, remove it. At the very least, just mention it briefly to fill in a gap and dont go into detail.
