Just be prepared when u see it..When people saw it in the 70's...they ran out screaming....Don't believe me? Look it up, it was also on TV.

When I was a kid, scary movies on late-night TV were standard for slumber parties. I remember "Shock Theater." It was pretty gross sometimes, and pretty scary lots of times, but also pretty funny a lot of the time. We girls would line up sleeping bags or bedrolls in front of the TV, and shriek and hug each other when we were startled. It was great fun.

The Exorcist is indeed pretty scary, and rather strange in a variety of ways, but I'm betting you can handle it. Make it a double feature with Rosemary's Baby and you will have quite a lot of material on which to build nightmares!

"The Exorcist" is rated R by the MPAA, which suggests that children under 17 should not see it without adult supervision.

The movie depicts the fictionalized "demonic possession" of a 12 year old girl who becomes violent. In the course of the film, she curses a lot and masturbates with a crucifix (which is a very bloody scene). When the movie originally ran in theaters in 1973, there were reports of audience members fainting and vomiting.

Well it seems like I have 2 disagree with everyone else..I watched the movie and I was so scared that I slept with my parents that night.. I watched at age umm...lets say 18 cause I can't remember..The exorcist is very scary to me..But I get scared very easily..I don't anymore though...

Since its with friends it shouldn't be that bad..Just tell yourself that it will not happen to U..and well I made sure to pray after..lol..It might help..lol

Are you a devoutly spiritual person. If so don't watch it. It will scare you. your mind is succeptable to the plot and images included.

If not, it is scary to some because of the special effects.

But you have to believe in satan to let this film really get under your skin and for a lot of people it does and age is not the issue.

That depends on how you deal with scary movies. As long as you dont have bad dreams and stuff on a regular basis. My 8 year old watched the "Exorcism of Emily Rose" and she did ok.

It's fine. I snuck and watched it at age 6. It's scary but you'll get over it, just close your eyes when the scary parts occur

14 is old enough, in my opinion.

It can be scary, some of the girls will laugh through it, others might be hiding their eyes behind a pillow. But you are old enough to understand it is just fiction.

It depends on whether or not you're easily scared. This is probably the scariest movie of all time. It might be fun if all your girlfriends are together and watch it and you can scream together, or just laugh. Then afterward you guys can calm eachother down.

Have fun being scared!

It is a bit scary, but I think that at 14 you are mature enough to handle it.
