No I don't think it's Satanic, per se. It is an advertisement symbol. The meaning is powerful, meaningful, and includes love when a regular pentagram does not (which is Satanic, but it is so overused these days, it might as well not be).

It is no accident that the symbol is a modified pentagram. The purpose of that is to cause outrage in parents and adults, which makes it more attractive to younger people, the listening audience to His Infernal Majesty, whom I like to listen to. I wear a pentagram ring myself, not because its connection with Satan, but because of its older connection, to woman, sacred feminine (yes, like in the Da Vinci Code, but I knew about that before I saw the movie) and that I love angles, interlaced stars, and the golden ratio lies within the shape.

If I can wear a symbol that is directly associated with Satanism and simply ignore that aspect and concentrate on more positive things, then you can get whatever you want out of the Heartagram. The Satanic aspect of the symbol is used as a lure, though, to rebellious kids. Before you get such a permanent tattoo, look up some advertising history, and think about it.

It is a nice symbol, but I wouldnt put it permanently anywhere. Such things like attractions to those bands, characters, and symbols, are rarely constant throughout a person's life.

The heartagram is a trademarked symbol of the Finnish rock band HIM. It is the fusion of a heart symbol and a pentagram.

According to HIM front man, Ville Valo, the heartagram represents both love and death, common themes in Valo's lyrics. The pentagram itself has no implicit relation to hate, death, or negativity but is the symbol of Venus, the bringer of knowledge and illumination. TV star and hardcore HIM fan Bam Margera has paid HIM a fee to license the symbol and is accordingly entitled to use it for promotional purposes.

It is wrongly believed by some people that the heartagram is associated with satanism, but Ville Valo denies these claims.

It's not satanic at all. Not even the Pentagram is. Well, it wasn't originally. The pentagram was originally a celtic symbol with a positive meaning. Satanists decided to use it for their symbol even though it was a peacful and non satanic symbol. Much like how Hitler and the nazis used the swastika as a symbol for their hateful and evil regime, even though it was originally an asian symbol that stood for peace and positivity. It's interesting and sad how things get twisted around over time.

First, we start labeling pointless symbols and other things as "satanic"
Then, we start promoting hate campaigns against certain ideas and books.
Then, we start censoring music and books and burning them.

When does it stop?
Many scientific advances, technologies and things that we enjoy today, such as medicine, chemistry, women pants, herbal medicine, astronomical knowledge, etc... would not exist if their authors and investigators had listened to those that labelled their activities as "satanic".
Don't listen to your mother, not on this, at least.
Religious censorship, or any type of censorship, for that matter, is a stone in the road of human progress.
Try explaning this to her. Two hundred years ago, women wearing pants was considered "satanic". Thank God people's minds evolve and change.

What matters is what you do in your life. The rest is smoke and mirrors.

No they aren't satanic, sit down and politely explain what it means with references from the band.

But be careful about that tattoo, be sure you really want it before you get it. In a few years you may change your mind- plus band/flash-type tatoos are waaay too common, especially heartagrams.

Also find your capslock button, kthx.

Satan probably does not reside in pictures and symbols but in the hearts and minds of people.

Don't wory about it and don't do evil things with your life

no, not satanic. it is kind of lame to get a tatoo of a band or a band's symbol though.

No..LOL
Your mom is a religion nut who has no idea what she is talking about
It's called a HEART-agram for god sakes....HEART, as in "love" as in the opposite of Satanic.
Your mom needs to stop thumping her bible so hard and get with reality
