no. this is only part of the script. Obviously Chavo was coming back to wrestling and in the past they have had some bad blood between them anyway. So what better way than to cost the man you secretly dislike his title? Plus as soon as Eddie won the belt, Chavo screwed him over too.

I agree with the others above that it was part of a storyline and WWE wanted Chavo to wrestle and have feud with Rey Mysterio

yes cause Rey had a match with Eddie at THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH last year and Rey beated Eddie so thats why Chawo hit Rey at the great american bash
