I went to the doctors around 7:30 this morning and they told me I was in latent labor( three cm dilated but taking a very long time to progess.). Since I am highly uncomfortable I was really dissappointed. They estimated that my daughter would be brought into the world by tomorrow. Any tips on getting my nerves and body to relax?

ANYTHING FOR MY FREAKING OUT HUSBAND? haha

if you can try taking a warm bath(it will not hurt you unless you are in it for a long time) to relax...you can also try doing things in the baby room to get your mind to clam down... I had a 32 hour labor but they never sent me home because i was 5 weeks early so thats the only things I can think of

Unfortunately, 3 cm is not very much - you can be 3cm dilated and not even know about it. It is a difficult thing to 'stay calm' at this stage of things but do try, I understand you are both excited, worried, nervous etc. all at once but maybe do something together to take your mind off it - you know, a game of cards, watch a movie or something or go for a walk if you are not having labour pains. Dont forget the human body is a marvellous machine and is doing all the right things to produce your daughter. even though the Dr estimates your babies arrival by tomorrow it could happen anytime from now on and you will know instinctively when that time is and go to hospital to deliver and by tomorrow the wait will be over and you will have your daughter and your new family life will begin. good Luck to you both

This is the earliest segment of work. This is while you will be making an attempt to determine whether or not you're experiencing precise hard work or simply disturbing BH contractions. This is ordinarily an extended segment with very sluggish development. And the contractions don't seem to be too unhealthy that's why it is so tough to determine if they're truly or no longer. It's feasible that your contractions would possibly begin nearer in combination or extra than 20 mins aside. This segment can final approximately 6-eight hours for first timers, however will also be shorter or for much longer. It simply depends upon the girl's frame.

To calm down look in the mirror and say to your self repeatively "Im going to bring a beatuful baby to the world. The greatest gift from God that a mother can ever recive". and take deep breathes. To freak out your husband tell him to go get you some tea, and when he comes back pretend that you had a talk with the doctors and say "hunny, were having triplets" or say "im sorry but the baby isnt yours..." lol= lots of love. Bless you and your baby.

While I was in labor they gave me tylenol 3 for the pain because like you I was progressing slowly. Try going back in to the dr. or going to the hopital. Tell them that they have gotten worse. They will check you and if you are 4cm they will admit you and you can get your epi. If you are not, ask them if they can give you anything for the pain. Good Luck Momma!!!

Take a long relaxing shower. Once you have regular contractions, it will help your body relax and progress the dialation and thinning.

Your husband? Tell him he can deliver the next one. :)
