Although im not a person who hates Fidel Castro or despises Marx and Lenin, i would not support a communist government. I was born in a capitalist country and although America could be doing some things better i wouldnt trade our political system for anything. Communism is extremism. On the extreme opposite end of the spectrum lies facism. Facism doesnt work either. We are a capitalist nation and most americans are pretty happy with it while Germany and France are (or have been) more socialist and i imagine germans and french have thier complaints but they wouldnt trade it for some extreme form of government. So before we as americans start talking about extreme changes we should look at what the consequences have been for other countries who have gone to either extreme rightwing or leftwing ideologies.

Definitely not.

Planned economies work only on extremely small scales (i.e. Plymouth Colony c.1620). There has never been a Communist nation on a scale of the United States that has not been rife with inefficiency, class warfare, and human rights violations.

Our economy would plummet, states would secede, and the United States would be faced with another Civil War.

Besides communism is antithetical to the American way of life. The declaration of independence details our rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. While it may not take our lives, communism dictates our occupation (depriving us of liberty) and limits meritocratic goal achievement (depriving us of the pursuit of happiness).

Communism is a great theory. I love the idea that everyone is equal and should receive equal education, health care and opportunities. However, it can never happen successfully. Russia saw the deaths of millions because Stalin was a mad man. Cuba has great health care and education, but it is unbelievably poor with little food for its people, and run by a disillusioned man(I went 2 years ago and saw it first hand). In order for communism to work there needs to be a ruler who is willing to sacrifice as well, who sees them self as an equal of the people, that will never happen. Human beings like the idea of power, and find it hard to give it up or even relinquish a piece of it. Great in theory, crappy in reality.

Not very many people. You can argue all day about whether it works or not (I don't think so), but this country would never vote for it. Don't be silly. Hardly anyone is your answer. I would not. The solution to all of our problems in this country is to continue in our democracy and free enterprise capitalism, but to make politics more moderate and less partisan. No more extreme liberals and extreme conservatives, we need compromise bills with people who can do what is best for the country rather than be extreme religious or extreme big spenders

You're sick. You wouldn't make a pimple on Trotsky's butt. Go ahead put yourself on a ticket. There are a lot of people in America who remember the slaughters and purges committed by the Reds.

Why do you have to steal and hide behind Trotsky's name? Isn't your own name good enough for your political convictions?

maybe, not exactly stalin, and better than capitalism, to those too ignorant, the communism u hate is stalinist. trotsky is like snowball from animal farm. i would vote for someone like a pro-life green or a democratic socialist though(christian socialism maybe), cause he has a better chance of winning. people r really stupid and think all branches of communism and socialism r the same, when normally they r seperate movements. good for thinking out of the box

Marxism flies in direct conflict with my philosophy, theology and the American way of life. This doesn't even touch the point that marxism that marxism is doomed for failure.
