abbreva. I swear by the stuff. Tea tree oil is cheaper, and not as plesant, but works very well.

The absolute best way to get rid of a cold sore is Abreva and Campo Phenique. I also experience a lot of cold sores. Cold sores are casued by basically a fever, which is an infection in the body. It is considered herpes, but not the genital kind. I use Abreva to dry up the cold sore and then campo phenique to stop the pain and itching. Both of these items can be purchased at any drugstore such as Wal-mart or Wal-Green's.

While it is a form of herpes, it is noted as a virus and virus runs a course of 7 -10 days. I know for mine I use ice to ease the pain and discomfort and it does help the keep the swelling and spreading down. For an over the counter medication try carmex it seams to help the healing faster.

go to a chinese acupuncturist and ask for an herb they call "one hundreds" I dont know what exactly they are but this is a CURE all to anything from cold sores to the flu - it will knock anything out in one day! its AMAZING! and its all natural so no side effects.
