If you are young, then probably you don't need to worry about it. The type of chest pain you would be worried about -thinking about a heart condition- is the one that you get on exertion. Let's say that you do some activity and then you start getting the pain, and then when you stop that activity the pain stops, then it's probably of a cardiac nature. Other features associated with a cardiac nature would be radiation of the pain to the neck, left arm or jaw.

If the pain occurs at rest or when you take a deep breath, it's not cardiac. However it's always good to get a doctor consultation even if not cardiac. Get a complete physical and if your doctor deems it necessary he (she) might do an electrocardiogram or cardiac enzymes to rule out a heart condition.

You may check your breast and axila on that side for masses as well.

There are many different things this could be. Not trying to be scary but it could be something wrong with your heart. Or it could be something as simple as a gas pain. Have you ever had stomach problems before? If so it could be really bad gas pains. I used to think i was having heart problems when my chest hurt under my left breast as well. It was a throbbing, aching pain and sometimes it would cause my heart to beat really fast. Ended up, it was panic attacks and anxiety. So if you are stressed, sometimes your chest will hurt pretty bad. Good luck and I hope your okay :)

The area of the pain and radiation pattern you are describing is typical of shingles. Although, the type of pain (assuming it's muscle spasms ???) is not.

Speak to your doctor. Don't seek medical advice from strangers on a website.

How old are you? It could be a twisted knee.
