This is an idea I've been wondering lately.

If death is nothing, how does it exist in a universe of existence? is it not a place that cannot exist if there is existence?

now im mentally blocked... damn ill add later.

exactly heather, i have asked that question many times, you would not know the ones you loved, the things you learned, the places you have visited. I have had to wait nearly 20 billion years to be alive, i dont know much before i was born but blackness, how does one know he or she is dead? or not yet born?

Dude i once looked at it from this view point.
Life=death (because it leads to it)
Then in turn death=life
For IF 6=* then *=6,

you live life what do you do with death....you experience it. That gave me hope that maybe there is life after death, for to experience something you must be alive. Now i was just lost! And really don't care i let it come to me the thought of what death really= is fear so we make up excuses i don't want to make up excuses i want to prove assumptions! You look at it like this nothing=life when you should be worrying if nothing=death

Your difficulty is one shared by many, if not most philosophers. That is, an inability to let go of thinking and retaining the Attn Aspect of ones Apapsyche in ones brain. As I just wrote in answering another question, we are composed of three simultaneously existing, and yet separate realms of vibrational energy. Two of which are Esoteric, and only one is physical, which includes ones brain and physical senses. One has to accept the notion that there is anothe plane of existence [actually several] which ones brain cannot perceive. To the brain, they are as "nothing". Death is a process whereby ones physical body is evacuated by ones Soul and MIND knotted together, as they vibrationally move into the Astral realm where another process begins.

The point is, using ones brain, one is hopelessly limited in discovering the whole of oneself, which is the key to discovering the rest of Creation.

Have you considered that maybe the life we have here is nothing? What if this is death to our "dead selves" and where they exist is what they call being alive? Then we are the nothing, and they are the everything. It's a really trippy idea.

Who said death is nothing...if it's nothing how are you asking a question about it? Surely it's something because we're talking about it...right?

You sound like me sometimes...

Sometimes I think to myself and try to remember what it was like before I was born....nothing to remember...maybe that's what death is like....just, nothing, but u don't know it's nothing because you don't know nothing.

Though I don't think life is nothing, I think life is everything. But then again, what is everything when you die but nothing.

If you didn't know you were going to die, I dont think that we'd live our lives the same way...
I think death gives us something to look forward to even if that sounds morbid...
