Man, I sure don't. Why punish Devil Rays fans when the Yankees, Red Sox, or Braves come to town? The Devil Rays fans end up staying home and the whole stadium is like an away game. Seriously, you should see it. You have like 2,000 Devil Rays fans in the house behind first base and you have like 20,000 fans wearing the caps of the other team behind third base. Not alot of loyalty towards the Florida sports teams anyways. Although the Lightning and Buccaneers have a HUGE fan base. I have been a fan for a few years now but this policy is pretty hard to stomach. I mean, it is hard enough being a fan in the first place because the Rays suck so bad. And then this crap. Pffft. They have had this policy for a few years now. I understand the business/ profit motive behind this decision but, damn. I don't attend those games anymore anyways.

Like I said, I don't attend the games anymore. So I don't really understand this namecalling crap. Especially to Jack, Mr. self proclaimed genius down there.

What I am really getting at is I am asking what this type of thing does for fan loyalty?

Like it or not, it is business. The Devil Rays probably average 11,000 per game, but 30,000+ when the Red Sox or Yankees are in town. View the price increases as a tax on out of town fans. If they were interested in building fan loyalty, they could offer a discount if you showed a Florida drivers license when buying a ticket. (Disneyland used to offer a Southern California discount).

If the devil rays didn't double the ticket prices, would more of their fans go? You should start a petition to them and get all the Devil Rays fans to sign it, saying if they lower the prices to normal ticket prices, they will attend the games.

Or, file a complaint against them with the better businerss bureau for price gouging, which in generally is a very frowned-upon scammer's tactic. Get all the devil rays fans to do the same.

Which do you want to fight with... sugar or fire? :)

Yes,but would you have more than 2000 D-Ray's fans without this policy?I doubt it at the moment,so they may as well soak the big market fans and get some extra cash to sign all the young talent You have down there instead of trading it away.

They wouldn't have to do it if the fans showed up for the other games... With the Yankees, Red Sox, etc., they're just trying to make up for the lost revenue from the games against the other teams that nobody shows up for...

I agree with you. It's stupid. You shouldn't be doubling prices for any team's games, especially a team that stinks as bad as the Devil Rays.
