we are now seeing the end of days...? Do people feel that things are just going to escalate out of all proportion now to the point of no return?

My wife thinks it's the beginning of Armageddon, but I think we have the ability to save lives. I'm a Westerner who has studied Islam and spent a lot of years among Arabs - and I trust them to lay down their arms and to talk sense if they are given the chance. In fact, I actually have experienced much greater honesty and gentleness among Muslims than among Westerners who are always looking for some competitive advantage for themselves.

Can we first of all get over all the prejudice against people of different religions, cultures and races and talk about collaboration instead of confrontation?

The European Union may not be perfect but the original aim was to make it impossible for another war in Europe. They have done this by helping all member states to develop equally effective economies, e.g., Ireland has benefitted enormously from structural funds and the IRA has agreed and held their side of a ceasfire for some years now. The new member states are now receiving structural funds to grow their economies. When the people see the benefits of collaboration on that scale, there would be little support for aggression if it meant the supply of trade and educational opportunities would be cut off.

Why does Israel suffer from attacks? Because of its policies towards its neighbours. If they had shared the benefits of their knowledge, skills and massive aid packages, instead of using them to take land, destroy crops and subjugate their neighbours, their attackers would lose the support of the people and the region could be stabilised.

the LORD had for told us of all this (read Rev 1-end). not only do people excuse this awy as not probable, but some actually believe it to be impossible. yet, i remember a dream i had when i was about 11 yrs old (and had not yet read the book of REVELATION). i saw an Angel descend from the heaven and planted his feet upon the lands and waters. all hell broke lose and people ran helter skelter. the world had ended and i was not raptured. that dream has hunted me for so long and also given me a reason to believe and prepare for eternity. what you find happening in Israel now will not pass away, it will escalate into regional, then global conflict that will probably herald the coming of the Messiah (JESUS). (see john hagee ministry website). i just pray that you will also prepare just in case it does happen to be the end of age

No, this aint as bad as the cold war, that could have resulted in the end of the world with all the nukes, but this'll just be another escalation of violence followed by relative quite like has been happening for the last 30 years or so

Despite it not being a "religious" question, I believe that the Word of God accurately forecasts the events of the last days of the world.

And I can see, based upon what the Bible says, that the different wars and rumors of wars going on now could escalate into "the end of the world."

I don't think so.. look at the downfall of the Roman Empire.. look at the end of WW2.. it may get worse than it is now.. involving more countries.. but in the end the world wil recover.. as it always does.. it's like the tide really. As long there not going to use nuclear weapons.. life is a strong mechanism and will always recover.

I'd hate to spend the rest of my life worrying that it will be the end of days. It would be depressing. Let's hope everything works out.

No. If islamic fascism is stopped now, instead of 10 years from now, Armageddon will be averted for awhile longer.
