They could trade Tavarez and Seanez for a six pack of beer and come out ahead.

The Red Sox are not going to make a big trade by the deadline. They really have no need to. Yes they could use another starting pitcher, and yes there rumors about them shipping off Nixon, but none of that matters. If the Sox were in a lesser position than they are now they would definitely make a trade. They're leading the division, so why fix it if it's not broke.

I'm sure they will, but there's no way to tell how big it will be. I could see them giving up a high end prospect to get back a young starter (like Peavy or Willis) but I think the trades they make will involve people like Ryan Shealy (mentioned above) or more likely a #3-4 starter like Mark Redmon or something.

Yes, they are looking to shop their RF Trot Nixon and are looking pretty interested SS Julio Lugo of the Devil Rays. If they can't get Lugo, they'll try to add a young bat by going after Rockies' 1B Ryan Shealy

I don't think so unless they are able to obtain a quality pitcher like Barry Zito. Otherwise, they will stay pat. Trading Ramirez for Garciaparra would be nuts!! It will not happen!!

Go Sox!!
