my son is 25 years old and he pretty much just stays home.We made him join our bowling league so he could get out and meet people.

He doesn't do well in social situations.

Try to find someone you trust, and join a group together.

Life is hard! Sometimes we all get stuck in a rut. I suggest you join a club or group. (scrapbooking, walking, photography,) Or, If your church has activities..GO! It's usually fun once you get there. You really need to try to overcome your social phobia. Most people are just like you...some are just more comfortable than others. Find out what activities are going on in your city. If there's a free concert or something go and find someone else who is there alone....sit close by him/her and strick up a conversation. Or you could always tell your family, (aunts uncles etc...) or even your bishop that you need some ideas. They might even have someone to set you up on a blind date with!!! That's how I met my husband! Good luck to ya!

Is phobia the right way to describe it? If someone walks up to you, do you freak out, scream, break out in a sweat, and desperately try to leave the situation usaully by running?
Sure, you may be awkward in social situations (like when someone talks to you, your mind goes blank and you can't what to talk about), but usauly the best way to get out of it is to put yourself in social situations so much that you start to get comfortable.

you are doing one good thing; realizing the problem before it gets too late. Start small, find a place, activity or some project you like and get involved. Dont waist it

What can you do for humanity?

Find a goal and do it.
