As you go closer to the beach it is more expensive from about 1800 to 3000 dollars because of the beach. In San Diego Ocean Beach is where all the bums are so that is 1800 going North to Mission Beach is around 2000 to 2500 and then in La Jolla that is just crazy over 3000 a month to live their. If you go East from the Beach it is still expensive from 1100 and up almost anywhere all the way to San Diego State. Do not move to Hillcrest or North Park just bad areas. Late

Rent in San Diego is very expensive. In good (not luxury) areas, the rent for a 1 or 2br, 1 or 2 ba apartment will probably be between $700 and $1000. For a nicer condo it will probably be between $1,500 and $1,900. If you want La Jolla, or a similar nicer area, plan on at least $2,500 to as high as you want to go..
I don't know about Los Angeles.

650 for just a room in a decent area. More by the ocean areas. An apt is about 850 at the cheapest..

In Los Angeles, $800-$1,200 if you live in the suburbs, $1,500-$2,000 if you live in more metropolitan areas in or around the city's center. In other words, more popular areas.
