I've listened to the song many times and I love it...maybe I'm overanalyzing, but I can figure several stories out for that song. What do you think it was written about?

Have you ever listened to any of the Black Crowes lyrics? Do you know how much weed those guys smoke? NONE of their lyrics make any sense. Don't try to figure any of it out. Just enjoy. The best I can figure is that the girl in the song is stoned.
They're still one of my favorite bands, tho'.

I always thought it was about a heroin addict mother who had a bad childhood herself and later had her little boy taken away because of her addiction.
I still like the song though.
