I'm estimating it'll be around $500 to get the things fixed to pass inspection and also get an oil change and tun-up. It's had lots of work done to it in the past including body work and paint job 2 years ago.

I wrecked my '97 Ford Taurus so am using my significant other's car and he got himself a new one. No I can't really afford another unless it was super cheap.

If it doesn't have that much corrosion, if the engine doesn't smoke, the transmission shifts OK, I mean if there is no MAJOR problems like those I mentioned, it may last for few years, but don't expect $500 will turn it into a new car, it will need some repair now and then...

Depends if you can afford another vehicle.... sometimes you dont have a choice and put more money into a old car

I ask myself the same question every time I pull up to the pump in my 1985 Volvo with 230,000 on it...

its about at its end -always look at what you could sell it for and dont ever spend more than you can get out of it unless its a lifer like my old camaro -
