You have a point.
I understand when they want to promote charities or have the government give more money for a certain area of medical research but do they realize that they are causing potential harm by trying to sway the public.
Example: Tom Cruise trying to convince everybody that antidepressants are bad. He never went to colege. He has no authority to say that. If someone did listen to him and stopped taking their meds, we'd probably have another mass murderer.

You make an excellent point. They use their notoriety to espouse viewpoints on topics they are not even remotely qualified to comment on. However, in a free country, one is free to speak freely, even if they are stupid statements. I think it is incumbent upon the listener to consider the source, and if necessary, to take steps to show disapproval. Case in point, I will never ever ever watch Law and Order: Special Victims Unit until the day comes when that scumbag Iced Tea or whatever idiotic thing it is he calls himself is gone. He did a rap about killing police officers. I'd sure like to meet the genius that hired him to play a cop! Similarly, I will never watch Jane Fonda of Joan Baez, and I've about had my fill of Angelina Jolie and her blather.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. They seem to think we are so stupid that they must advise us on everything. I guess it's an ego thing. I for one have quit going to their movies or watching them on T.V. The audacity to think because you can act or talk makes you a political genius is disqusting. I feel sorry for those so awe struck by celebrity that they give any merit to anything these egotists say.

i imagine that a number of the ineffective ones do yet i replaced into reading a piece of writing about George Clooney and he had under no circumstances googled himself. even as he did he reported that a number of the failings reported about him weren't genuine. So, i guess it purely relies upon on who the attractiveness is.

Well I think like everyone else they do have the right to their own opinion. But as far as them speaking in general for everyone, or preaching to us about something, I think that is wrong. Who do they think they are?

Everyone has a right to their opinions, but i have a problem with people who are paid to "entertain" us and use their status to push their views on us.
