when it said welcome it said a hard drive file was recoverd and it was succesfulll.the it showed my desktop and it had a little box in the corner and it was fastly showing al my desktop items in writing in the box,my homepage is yahoo! but when i hit i.e it took me to msn is this bad?!?

Yes, because the wires and the mini computer chips in the comp. and the the mother board might be messed up. You might want to bring it to a pro. who knows what they are doing and can fix your comp. problem but it might take quit some money but's worth it trust me about it.

when u bring up your home page and u want it yahoo instead of msn ....go to top ...tools then to internet options ...under the top left ...general...and top put in the page u want as a home page and click at the bottom apply .....then the page u want will always come up

could be mal ware. try resetting you home page through you control pannel,internet settings.
