Just relax. Your confidence will triumph. Practice with small groups of people(about five) then increase the numbers as you feel more comfortable. Volunteer speaking whenever the chance arises. Pushing yourself to the challenge. Just imagine yourself as being the most eloquent speaker in the world. Try reciting poetry with emotion. One last thing you can do it! Watch Coyote Ugly one of the girls had stage fright. But she overcame it. Another thing remember you are destined to be great!

Probably one of the things of acting which is the most important is that you have to leave your character of shy girl aside and drown in the character you have to peform, but that is of acting. For singing its just flattering yourself that you are a great singer and it is really important that you sing and perform infront of your friends because if you can't peform infront of them then you can't peform infront of anyone. Performing as you said is about having fun and doing something you like so if you like it and you feel proud of yourself then it doesn't matter what other people say.

stop concentrating on the fear and concentrate on getting into character, watching for your cues, etc. That'll make the stage fright go away, because you won't know it's there
