You can buy all 6 (EADGBE) in a pack or buy individual strings. I think the best for electric are light gauge high end with a heavy gauge low end (low E and A string). It gives a fuller sound. Ernie Ball used to make them. Light gauge bass strings can sound tinny.

Some have all 6 in one pack and others sell them one per pack. I know this cause I had to buy new ones for my guitar and they were sold separately which is in a way better cause you know where they go exactly.

Yes. Sometimes they even give you an extra high 'E' string, and sometimes also an extra 'B' string.
