Whenever we take out the ethernet and plug in the usb cable, we restart the cable modem and we get a pc connection but no data bandwidth.

usb should auto detect and install drivers for you. but it is mutch slower than cat 5 eather.

Yes, it is true Ethernet is much faster, but if you really want to use USB...
When you installed the modem, it probably asked you which you wanted to use: Ethernet or USB. You choose Ethernet. To get USB, you must go through that setup again.
Remember: You cant use the ethernet and USB connections at the same time. You should probably also restart your computer after switching the connections.

you dont want do connect it via usb.. ehternet much faster and more reliable... if u need to connect via usb you have to go into network connections and change the settings
