The black guy/girl. for example if I'm at work and 3 people are standing there and the black guy asked for me and my coworker says" the guy over there is waiting for you" and I ask ,"which one and he says "the black guy, why do you get offended?
I don’t think I have ever gotten offended on someone saying the Hispanic girl or when customer are looking for me and my coworker ask witch girl? and they say the" Mexican girl" I have never though that was rude...do you?
I hope not to offend no1 but its something I had tought of.

How about this, if you two guys were standing there, one was Caucasian and the other African-American, and you asked "Which one", would the person say, "The white one?" Probably not, because society has not progressed this way yet and more than likely never will. I think it is just about being referred to by the color of their skin and not as a "person". I am Caucasian so feel free to correct me if I am wrong, as I am NOT speaking from personal knowledge and don't presume to. I have a habit of learning people's names so if someone were to say, "Which one?" I can answer with, "Steve" or "James", etc.

I am black, and I have never experienced anyone getting angry from saying that. Usually when you describe someone you do not say a color. For example. My white friend is short, blonde, and slim. WHen someone asks who she is I say are you talking about the little petite blonde right there. If they are black I say the tall nice looking guy over there. I think that it is because the first thing that you say about a person is usually the first thing you see. You do not see good looking or tall or anything like that. The first thing you see is the color.

We get offended because it goes back into slavery they used that word as disrespect and even though the slavery thing is over some ppl still use that to be prejudice we dont like it because it just doesnt sound right coming from a white person

I don't find it offensive in a racist way, I think it is ignorant when you have to associate a physical charteristic for such a thing. Actually the other day I said something to that effect. I said "the chubby girl" and immediately after I said that, I realized no matter what physical thing there was I should haven't said that.

Well I have a "black" friend and he gets really pissed when you call him black. He gets all defensive and puts his hand up to something black and says this is black! I am not black i am brown! He gets defensive. I guess some "blacks" can take it and it doesn't bother them and some just don't like it. I think it is just natural for some to have different emotions about that kind of stuff.

Well, i think as humans in a fast paced enviroment, we readily describe a person not so much in detail but in prominence, we are not singling out color of a skin, but rather the color of the skin as a descriptive tool verses one's attire.
The Law Enforcement has been using this technique for years,
and it wasn't considered racial profiling.

What would you say if they said the brown girl (when speaking about you)? I think people object to being called the color of their skin no matter what shade (such as calling a Caucasian "pink").
