Ok I'm in my Sophomore year in high school right now, and there is this guy that goes to my school who isn't too bright and looks sort of like a moron and has a big nose, and he is constantly being made fun of and hurrased esp. in PE. But the truth is, i sort of feel sorry for him. I know i can go and report it, but i don't want to be a snitch...and its also something that just can't be solved from the teachers, they don't fully know whats going on as good as the students and he could get hurassed in places other than school, what would you do to help him?

Be kind to him and don't join forces with those who torment him.
This situation is far greater than anything you can do to assist.

Too many people worry about being a snitch instead of worrying about being of some help and trying to solve a problem. The best thing for you to do would be to say something if not to a teacher to the person or persons causing the problem. I was never made fun of myself, but I always took someone under my wing that was. Those were the best friends to have. They always seemed to be more careing and understanding and I stood up for them , they were worth every ounce of effort I put in for them. It isnt about being popular and in the in crowd , when school is out and you go on to much bigger and better things you are all in the same real world. Value those who are less fortunate than you who dont have all the money or the looks. Teach him to stand up for himself if nothing else. That is the best thing you could do for him. You and him will learn a lifelong lesson from this, and in turn you could gain a real friend.

I am also in my sophomore year and like you I have had this problem as well. The only thing that you can do really is to try and get to know him. Then help him to focus on his positive attributes. Telling someone the positive things about them will not only boost their confidence but it will carry with them throughout their whole lifes. Plus you will feel mondo good inside. Good Luck!

What i would do is just to tell him that you feel sorry about him ane care about him. I am sure it would make him feel so much better about the whole situation to know that someone out there isnt against him and actually cares about him and doesnt want to make fun of him. He will feel safer in school and more confident about him self.

Trying to stop harrassment is a full time job. You might just do more by swallowing your pride and befriending this person and letting them know that you like them for who they are with no strings attached.

It's a difficult situation. I recommend talking to teachers or officials about it. See what they can do about it. If they can't do anything, it might just be a moot point.

be his/her friend...and help him gain confidence and strength...they only pick on him because they see him as a weak target...believe me, I was one. I know that maye they'll start seeeing you weird if you get kinda close to him...but in time the problem will be fixed! It's not easy...but if you want to help there's the suggestion.
