work is not a gimme. in our country it's where the rubber meets the road. you sound a little new to the whole experience. perhaps you live in a region where the economy and job opportunities are limited, but probably you are just experiencing the same challenges all of us have gone through that have been working for quite some time now. if you can begin to imagine what it must be like for someone to run a for profit business, and then put yourself in their shoes long enough to guess what employee qualities they are probably looking for (that will hopefully become an essential part of their operations) then you would begin to understand how to present yourself, and yes 'sell' yourself and your stronger qualities, on your resume and in the interview process. you need to try to be self aware that way. know what you think you are good at and at the same time be interested in the chance to work with more experienced coworkers who can show you even more. entry level jobs (if that's what you're going for to begin with) can be a cattle call. try to relax, walk in and let the receptionist know you have an appointment. i promise it gets easier over time. and the only way it gets easier is to put one foot in front of the other and (try to look forward to) see what happens. best of luck!
