Why is it Ok for black people to make jokes about white people?

making racist jokes is never ok! no matter what the race! but people think it is ok since other races make jokes about there race too!

In Hawaii, the great local comedians are Mel Cabang, & Frank Delima. What they do best is Racist jokes, because we make fun of each other and get over it. Ironically here on the mainland people get so up tight about it.
In Hawaii - at the time when I was growing up, EVERYONE was a racial Minority. So it was okay, because of the Diversity in Cultures and Heritage intermingling, we got along with each other and laughed at each other - no real harm done.
Unfortunately, it all depends upon your values and perspectives here in the mainland states.
Blacks were the unfortunate ones in the Slavery & Oppression of other minorites, like the Ameican Indian, and The Asians; i.e. Chinese in the Pacific Northwest & in more recent times too.
There are times in the history of this country, that we can't be proud of. But that they were growing pains that made this country what it is today.

It isn't a really bad thing, because it depends upon You're Point of view.

One of your rights, as an American, in the free-est country on the planet.

The white male under the age of 45 but over the age of 25 has less rights then any other. In fact they are the only ones that have no specal rights at all.

I have to agree w/ Lady Wyntre. It's because of the history of abuse black people have suffered at the hands of the socially dominant white race. Whitey is the bully in the playground.

great question.. i think every white person has thought about this a time or two... its sick how blacks can get us for being racist when half the time we are not doing this but they criticize us and they get away with it.. as far i'm concerned they need to have what goes around comes around type of stuff done to them cause for years and years now they have gotten away with it and that's why they continue to act that way.

Depends on how ya say it..I can joke with folks all the time and they do the same to me..we all know it isn't serious, because we are all goobs.

.....if you don't know somebody, it can feel more personal..ironic, isn't it?...but really.. you don't go up to some stranger and say. your momma smells like fritos..if ya don't know them enough for them to KNOW it's just a joke.
...If you say to that same person you don't know ,..that your OWN mama smells like fritos..then it's self effacing..and kinda funny..(well that's a really bad example,because that's not really very funny,.. but for the sake of the example and to support my own point, Im not talking about chubbiness, or skinniness, or anything like that, because as I said,It can be hurtful..same thing)

Honky jokes are funny and generally good-hearted. Black jokes are usually degrading and racist. "Okay" is a matter of perspective. I like making "Honky" jokes and am white. So what?
