For future reference, you can actually renew them online and check your status at:
http://www.in.gov/ai/appfiles/bmv-rrs/

But, since you sent a check, contact them here:
"Customers with non-My License Plate questions (the online service) including those regarding vehicle registrations, renewal notices or other Bureau services should contact the Bureau of Motor Vehicles at the following address or phone number:

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles
100 N. Senate Ave.
Indianapolis, IN 46204
(317) 233-6000

Best of luck!

If Indiana is like Ohio, you may hear by 2010. State license plate offices are staffed by unfeeling and uncaring lifer state employees who have no concept of customer service or helping out. They get to it when they get to it. Sometimes I think they do it purposely so that you will get a ticket from the police, and then the license office empoyees and the police laugh at you

Have you been watching the news???
The Indiana BMV had new computer programs installed by the IOT (don't remember what that stands for) and it really messed up everything...I did our plate by mail also in May (our plate expired in June) and it took awhile to get the new one, but we did get it before the other expired. If your worried, then call the main branch downtown...

Contact the agency that supplies the license plates. It's probably the DMV.
