Because the chemical contents of the shampoo is bad for your eyes. If contact with shampoo again, rinse your eyes with cold running water for few seconds you'll be fine.

Maybe because that is the only time the shampoo actually gets in your eyes. Your eyelids scrape it away when you close them. Good question!

lol no one answered your question. I geuss its the oxygen reacting with soap drying out your eyes causing severe pain. When your eyes are closed the oxygen isn't there and your tear ducts are keeping your eyes moist.

something to do with oxygen id imagine - probably merging with the shampoo chemicals therefore burning eyes - kinda inevitable lol

this is becuase you are keeping your eyes moist so the shampoo can not dry them out. thats why you should rinse your eyes with water.

stings like F--K both ways to me dude i try open my eyes to wash it out it stings so i close em that stings so i open em to wash it out flippo its an infinity loop
