It might be just the location I live in.. but I don't see/meet many other asian lesbian/bisexuals. Looking inside media and in just general, I hear that there are less asian les/bis. Is that true? I'm just curious.

Now that I think of it, parents might play a big role in it. Asians parents are not tolerant of gay people or supportive in anyway.. I guess alot has to do with their cultural reputation? I hear my parents say bad stuff all the time.. It's really sad to hear.

There are asian lesbians and bisexuals. They just like to keep it to themselves and hide in the closet because of the traditions. I myself am not really hiding that much anymore and I do know a couple asian lesbians and bisexuals.

But then again, in asian cities like Hong Kong and Taiwan, there are many many MANY openly gay couples walking around almost everywhere you go. You won't see two guys together often but you will see two girls together everywhere :)

You are simply not trying hard enough - - - there are lots of Asian women who take time away from husband & family to spend with their 'girlfriends' and they are doing more than browsing the shops in the mall. There is an entire Asian sub-culture of dutiful Asian wives who have younger women protogees. Start looking outside of the usual bars & cafes. If you see an Asian chick you find attractive, get friendly and ask? Naturally courtship is expected but after giving a girl a few cards & flowers she will get the hint and most likely reciprocrate. Have a great time. Peace.

It may be true.....I don't see many myself.
The Asian culture is very tradition and family oriented. Being glbt is certainly not traditional for most people, and most conservative traditional families would not support a child being glbt. So since family is so important many young people may be hesitant to consider a "deviant" lifestyle.

Now that you mention it, I don't see many people of Asian descent being gay/lesbian, either. Perhaps they have more respect for tradition? Perhaps they simply don't "bend" that way? Perhaps most of them are just straight? Who knows?
