Aside from smothering him, I would look into nasal strips from your local pharmacy.

He may have a sleep disorder known as sleep apnea , it's pretty common and is caused by a flap in the throat that closes either partially or fully interrupting regular breathing. I have it and the doctor prescribed a machine called a cpap machine ( cpap stands for continuous positive airway pressure) and what this does is it blows air into the nostrils keeping this flap open so breathing is normal again . This requires wearing a mask connected to an air pump which can be adjusted specifically suited to his problems. It can become serious and he perhaps should speak with his doctor concerning having a sleep study done to determine if he is a candidate for this. There are also bi-pap machines which are similar except when exhaling the air pressure is reduced to allow easier exhaling. Snoring is one of the symptoms among others of sleep apnea. Also the machines are a good remedy for the snoring and help someone get a much more restful sleep if they indeed have sleep apnea.

well if he is drunk or stoned there isn't much you can do. but if not then get him some breathe right strips, these really help. also make him sleep on his side or his stomach, he snore little or not at all. if this doesn't work kick him until he stops, cause if you can't sleep neither should he. if you want to go an expensive route talk to your doctor there is something in his nose or throat that can be removed to stop the snoring and provide better breathing.

Yep - you can get a product called Slumber Guard - It's available in pharmacies across Australia - and you can also order them for immeadiate delivery on the net - worldwide. They really work, and they use the same principles as what doctors use. Remember that most snoring comes from the throat and not the nasal passages.

i suffer from snoring and have done knowingly since i was a teenager, mine is due to two things, one being a smoker and the other having a broken nose constricting the air i can suck through my nasal passages. the best bet in my opinion is a operation to sort the problem forever. a few thousand pounds for a lifetime of peace seems to me to be well worth it if you love each other

My boyfriend snores REALLY loudly too and, i wear ear plugs to bed sometimes when i'd rather him cuddle up to me than sleep on the lounge. I also heard that snorers can have an operation to have their adnoids removed and sometimes that helps....

i remember an on the buses thingy where Olive stitched tennis balls to the back of Arthur's PJ top ...... but I appreciate in this day and age it's highly unlikely your bloke sleeps in PJs ........... I used to push my bloke to the edge of the bed, he'd wake up and roll on his side and hey presto! No snoring

is he over weight?
if he is that will cause his wind pipe to close , so a diet might be in order. try a flatter pillow to allow his neck to fall back, and if he is on his back give him a push to make him roll over on his side , side snoring is a little less loud.
