Like what exactly would they do and the way they do it. And if you arn't really following the person around just finding out as mu ch info as you can about them is that stalking? like their phone # adress how many ppl they have in their family their cars and license plates. is that stalking? And if you know that that person is definatly gonna be there and you just go there to see and talk to them is that stalking?

Is this person someone who stole your boyfriend or something?
If your a male and in Mass. what you described above is considered stalking because they have strict laws on it up there.
Being your female you probably would not be blamed for stalking unless you get real weird about it like looking in windows and taking pictures of "them" in public places while standing 5' away.
