Hmmm, that is unusual. Could you tell us what kind of material the cupboards are and what kind of paint you used? Off hand, I can't think of anything that would cuase that to happen. In any event, and I'm glad I decided to edit before submitting this, DO NOT ADD ANY OTHER CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS TO THE OFFENDING PAINT, if they still smell "OFF" you run the risk of a harmful and potentially hazardous chemical reaction. Sorry I can't truly answer this for you.

most likely there is some bacteria in it or it is a little too old. I say spray a little bit of Lysol( that is not spelled right I think)or some perfoume.
